This isn’t the first time that I shared unfortunate news about someone passing…(and certainly won’t be the last). A Brown favorite, Bob Gusta, passed away last week.

His obituary reads:

Robert F. Gusta age 66 of Brown City died January 26, 2012. He was born April 13, 1945 to Alvin and Dorothy Gusta. Bob graduated from Brown City High School Class of 1963. He received his associate’s degree in agriculture from Michigan State University.

Robert was a life long farmer who loved and lived to farm. He was an award winner from the Michigan Milk Producers Association. Bob was a bowler for many years at Brown City Lanes and enjoyed keeping in touch with classmates. Even in ill health Bob would find the strength to mount the tractor and do some plowing, oxygen tank and all.

He is survived by two sisters Shirley Cooper, Marlette and Nancy (Duane) Henn, Cass City, nieces Tammy, Robin, Heather and Cindy and nephew Shawn.

He was preceded in death by his parent Alvin and Dorothy, a brother Donald and a nephew Anthony.

A gathering for family and friends will be Sunday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City.

Funeral Services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brown City.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery…
